Four steps, applied the same way in every jurisdiction we report on.

1. 01SOURCE RECORDSFuneral Convergence obtains official filed death-certificate, disposition, licensing, regulatory, and related records from applicable public or industry sources.
2. 02NORMALIZATIONEstablishment names, license numbers, locations, ownership variations, and disposition categories are reviewed and reconciled into consistent reporting values.
3. 03QUALITY REVIEWAvailable totals are checked against known source figures. Duplicate, suppressed, incomplete, unmatched, or jurisdiction-specific records are reviewed and disclosed when relevant.
4. 04REPORT PRODUCTIONThe reviewed data are converted into professionally formatted reports or approved datasets with the applicable source, reporting period, methodology, and limitations identified.

What the records support

Filed records answer some questions precisely and others only in part. We state which is which on the page where the number appears.

• WHAT A REPORT DESCRIBES

  Recorded and normalized activity for the establishments, geography, and reporting period named on the report.

• WHAT A REPORT DOES NOT CLAIM

  A report is not a complete census of every death or every provider, and it is not described as real-time unless a specific product is confirmed as such.

• WHY JURISDICTIONS DIFFER

  Each jurisdiction decides which fields it records, how it categorizes disposition, how often it releases data, and what it suppresses.

• HOW WE DISCLOSE LIMITS

  Reporting lag, suppression, unmatched records, and category differences are noted on the report alongside the affected figures.

Available data fields, reporting periods, geographic detail, disposition categories, and update frequency vary by jurisdiction and source.
